Marco Giannelli (a.k.a. Pernil) started his career as a copywriter at Ogilvy Brasil after which he worked at agencies such as Giovanni/FCB, Euro RSCG and Lew’Lara TBWA, with just over a year of work experience in Portugal.

He has been at AlmapBBDO for more than 10 years: starting out as a copywriter, then 6 further years as a Creative Director before more recently being promoted to Executive Creative Director.

Pernil’s resume has a total of 68 Cannes Lions, as well as dozens of awards from the Clios, the One Show, D&AD, the Effie Awards, etc.

In 2015 he was the 7th-most awarded Creative Director in the world in the Cannes ranking, rising to 2nd place in 2016, where he remained in 2017.

Pernil also helped AlmapBBDO become Agency of the Year at Cannes on three separate occasions: in 2010, 2011, and 2016.

Over the course of his career, he’s worked for global clients including Audi, Bayer, Fiat, Gatorade, Getty Images, Gillette, Honda, HP, Mars (Petcare and Food), Nike, Pepsi, Samsung, Visa, and Volkswagen, as well as major Brazilian clients such as Bradesco Seguros, O Boticário, Gol Linhas Aéreas, and Havaianas.
