YDA JURY 2019: Adina Sales

Adina Sales
Managing Director
Psyop + Blacklist
New York, USA

Adina Sales is founder of Blacklist, a division of Psyop bringing studios with distinctive and artful voices in design-led storytelling from around the world to US commercial market. Since its first inception in 2006, Blacklist has been both home and incubator to these specialized artists, helping them gain exposure in the US by supporting them throughout the production process. Blacklist's work has been nominated for an Emmy, a Visual Effects Society Award, Sundance accolades, and many Advertising industry award prizes including permanent placement in the Museum of Modern Art archives.

In 2018, Sales’ role expanded to the entire Psyop family of talent. Now, as the current co-Managing Director, Sales’ focus is on helping the larger company pivot and problem-solve in an ever-evolving marketplace. She has taken Blacklist and Psyop's combined legacies of strong agency connections, client relationships, and network of global creative resources and has translated that into a creatively collaborative and multi-disciplinary production company whose work blurs the lines of advertising and entertainment.

Sales started her career exploring the documentary world which led to an unexpected offer in Advertising. With a passion for photography, writing, art creation, and international travel, a career path was cemented. Sales spent 11 years within Advertising Agencies as a Producer and Executive Producer before switching to production. She hasn’t looked back since.

Adina lives in Brooklyn with her beloved children, husband, and dog.
