Creation in Isolation: Week 5 part 2

Todays Creation in Isolation selection is from United Kingdom, Spain and Mexico..

STOCKHOLM SYNDROME
Ben Marshall
United Kingdom

Ben has always used the camera on his shoulder to get stuck in and tell stories across the globe. He has lived amongst tribes in the Amazon Rainforest, followed Japanese musicians perform in Iceland and shot with world class beatboxers in Taiwan.

His experience working as a self-shooting documentary director has shaped the aesthetic of his commercials, which balance a handheld, character focussed style with cinematic visuals. Regardless of being freelance without representation he has won campaigns with agencies such as BBH and The & Partnership to direct films for well known brands such as Next, Lexus and Ovo Energy.

STOCKHOLM SYNDROME is a snappy black comedy in which a seemingly innocent phone call between a young woman stuck in London’s lockdown, and her Swedish mother, slowly reveals chilling secrets that don’t bode well for her Tech-Deck obsessed partner.

The director’s girlfriend Molly, in her first ever acting role, embraced the murderous character with such worrying conviction he now sleeps with one eye open!
