The YDA Podcast is back for 2025!

After a brief hiatus, our podcast series is back with fresh voices and in-depth conversations. Hosted by shots magazine’s very own Danny Edwards, this brand-new second season continues to explore ‘six things’ about inspiring creators and filmmakers, diving into their sources of inspiration, creative processes, and advice for the next generation of directors.

To celebrate the relaunch of the YDA podcast, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Ricardo Adolfo, the newly appointed Jury Chair of YDA 2025!
As Executive Creative Director at TBWA\Media Arts Tokyo — and an accomplished novelist and screenwriter — Ricardo Adolfo is a true master of blending advertising with storytelling. In this episode, he chats with Danny Edwards about his admiration for Jonathan Glazer, the art of navigating challenging partnerships, and the power of imagination

This year’s Jury Chair Ricardo takes great interest in putting a spotlight on new directing talent, and he’s looking forward to seeing all the entries for 2025. In light of the relaunch we’re offering a special 50% submission discount to the first 10 entrants who can find the hidden waiver code by listening to the episode (hint; it has to do with director’s having the freedom to _________).
