Born to Create Drama Showcase

The Born to Create Drama competition will be closing on May 1 so we thought it was a good time to highlight some of the films we have showcased so far.

Create a film, under three minutes long, which fits the tagline ‘Born To Create Drama’ – it can be funny, scary, odd, exciting, unsettling… as long as it makes us sit up and take note. The winner will kick off our 2021 ceremony!
Its free to enter, and open to everyone, whether you’re a young director or not but entries MUST be in by May 1.

The ‘Born to Create Drama’ slogan has been with the YDA for more than 15 years thanks to TBWA/PHS Helsinki.

Here are some of our showcased entries so far which may give you some inspiration..

Miss – Bea Van Grutten

Bea van Grutten is a trained multidisciplinary designer, who has discovered a new found joy in directing and producing film. Having worked on a few minor film projects in the past, she is now finding any opportunity to keep exploring and developing her skills within the film industry.

CATRANTINE – Daniel Ferreristico!

Daniel is a director, currently based in Brazil, who brings a multi-media and multi-disiplinary approach to work across commercials, short films and music videos. He won at the YDA in 2015, and we’re thrilled to get to see his work again!

Don’t forget this a free contest and open to everyone, enter by May 1.
