Action, Cut, Edit, Post, and Enter YDA

This year is your year. It’s the year you’re going to get that film made and enter it into the Young Director’s Award where it will be seen by numerous international producers and creatives through the extensive judging process.

If your film is shortlisted it then gets the mega glory of being screened to the advertising and production community at the super sparkly YDA show in Cannes where so many top directors kick-started their careers by winning one of the categories.  So get ready, get set, get cracking and make that film in time for our call for entries which begins next month with a deadline on Friday April 19th.

And it’s a special year for YDA too. It’s our 15th anniversary of championing fresh talent, 15 years of showcasing the very best new directors from around the world. To celebrate we will be launching a fabulous grown-up website soon and for starters here is our new logo designed by François Prost at BETC Paris which is launched today.

130115-logo-yda-rvb-01Oh and remember how crazy popular the show was last year with so many people unable get into the venue because it was filled to the rafters with people still queuing around the block? Well this year we’ve taken over the Palais Stephanie cinema complex again and we’re going to have an even bigger and more spectacular event than previous years.  So here’s your first Cannes date: YDA show and beach party Thursday June 20th.
