Sign me up: Chris Murdoch, Errol Rainey, Alice Kirkpatrick and Gianluca Fallone

We love a whirl through fashion films but this trailer in association with Dr. Martens for the first issue of Juke Magazine really caught our eye. Featuring music lovers, freaks, geeks and babes this film was shot by Chris Murdoch, Errol Rainey, Alice Kirkpatrick and Partizan’s Gianluca Fallone over a weekend. It’s got heart. It should be compulsory for everyone and everything turning 50 – as Dr Martens did this month – to have a celebratory film made for them by a bunch of wonderful newbies.

The soundtrack is Those Kids Were Tough As Nails by Freddy K and The Breeze, recorded around about 1988.

“The film reinforces DM’s brand values of youth, individuality and eccentricity without being heavy-handed,” says Chris Murdoch. “It’s also the perfect trailer for the magazine – music makes us wear crazy stuff and hang out in weird places and dance like crazy in our bedrooms and cry real tears for pop stars we’ll never meet. We shot it over a weekend on both the 7d and on DV. We didn’t use any other equipment. We also shot interviews and other bits which we are planning to use at a later date as we had so much nice stuff.”

So keep an eye out on the-juke.com.
