Hot Spot: Joseph Connor

Joe trained as a theatre director at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama focussing on clowning and mime. He formed his theatre company Parrot {in the} Tank with fellow clowns and after a few years touring Europe, playing the West End and having his work shown at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, he turned his hand to film directing and started making music videos, commercials and short films.

Joe Connor shot several music videos for Band of Skulls but this one still his favourite piece of work, it’s “surreal, cinematic and slick”.

This short film with Daniel Radcliffe was a much more intimate affair.  Just the two of them in a room, no crew, just telling a story in a simple and beautiful way
